Acurast, a Zug-based startup, is positioning smartphones as the backbone of a new decentralized computing paradigm. The company secured $11 million in mixed funding ahead of its Genesis Mainnet launch on November 17, which will introduce the native $ACU token.

The network transforms idle phones into verifiable computing nodes, bypassing traditional data centers. Early traction shows promise: 146,000 connected devices processed 490 million transactions during testnet phase. This approach could redefine infrastructure economics in Web3.
